Symbols:The Alphabet of Human Thought

After reading the article "Symbols: The Alphabet of Humand Thought", I chose the iconic Apple logo as one of my images, because in today's culture Apple can be seen almost anywhere and everyone knows it.

Thinking along of the lines of Apple and logos, symbols, and signs I then chose the Abbey Road sign, because Apple has just recently released the Beatles' albums for iTunes. This is yet another sign many people know.

From the Apple logo, I chose Disney's colored logo. It reminded me of the rainbow appearance that Apple's older colored logo had.

I changed the title by giving it some texture and lightening it up some. Also, I painted some of the bottom right corner with black to hide the elements that were standing out.

Jevon: Change the treatment of the title to match the rest of the poster. I'm drawn to the lower right hand corner, maybe remove some of the distraction there, because it draws away from the information.

Lindsey: It has a punky feel. I like the texture it works well. Move the title down and give it a time.

I chose to overlap the clouds, make the font in the clouds more readable by adjusting the color, and highlighting the skull in the band name to draw more attention to it.

Jevon: The text in the darker blue cloud is difficult to read. Maybe move the clouds to the left a little, or even try overlapping them. I want more attention on the band name, try putting something behind it.

Lindsay: I'd like to see color on the band name. And maybe bring the opacity down on the background. Overall, I really like it.
